As the founding designer on the Applied AI team at Google Ads, our purpose was to collaborate with AI research teams within Google like DeepMind, PAIR, Gemini etc, to find interesting needles in a world of haystacks.

Foundational research

In the seminal exploratory research I led with my product partner Autumn Zhang, we uncovered key gaps and AI use cases that could help scale advertisers, and Google.

We worked on the two top priorities from this list.

This was an exciting and arduous journey in research, design, rigor and organizational savviness.

Impact

In our leadership pitch, we signed up for $██ million annual recurring revenue.

We beat the team’s expectations by 16x, and made $█.█ billion* ARR.

These products are foundational to our team’s success & helped cement our position as a leading group in the organization.
